Ingredients

  • 2 liters of apple juice
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 12 cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon allspice

Instructions

  1. In a slow cooker, pour in apple juice, then stir in packed brown sugar and raisins.
  2. Place in cinnamon sticks, cloves and allspice.
  3. Give the mixture a thorough stir to ensure all the ingredients are well combined.
  4. Set your slow cooker to the low heat setting and let it simmer for approximately 4 hours to infuse the apple juice with the warming spices. Avoid cooking it for any longer, as it may develop a burnt taste.
  5. Once simmered, strain the spiced drink to remove any solids.
  6. Serve in Irish coffee mugs for your Hobbit movie night.
